WORSHIP COMMITTEE

MISSION ...
To provide opportunities for residents and visitors to our island to experience a meaningful worship of God.


MEMBERSHIP:
Chair:
Secretary
Liaison: Director of Music, ex-officio member (voice without vote)
Other members should include those who have an interesting in some part of the worship program – flowers, music, greeting, etc.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

1. Providing for weekly worship services at Chapel by the Sea.
2. Assisting the pastor in the preparation for funerals and weddings.
3. Arranging for flowers in Sanctuary
4. Maintaining the correct use of paraments
5. Scheduling and train worship leaders
6. Assisting the elders in the preparation of communion elements and the scheduling of elders to assist in serving communion in the church and in homes and hospitals.
7. Training and scheduling ushers and greeters.
8. Making decisions about when to have one or two worship services in season and out of season.
9. Overseeing music ministry, including the Chapel Concerts (through the Music Committee)
10. Decorating the sanctuary for Advent and Christmas and other special occasions.
11. Assisting with the plans for special worship services, including the community services planned by the Beach Ministry.
12. Giving feedback to the pastor on worship services.

The Worship Committee at Chapel has functioned through its active sub committees and teams (Flower Guild, Usher Team, Greeter Team, etc), so that the Worship Committee is a time to coordinate the work of these different groups.
